Will you pray for changes?

Each month or so I try to take some time to reflect on what God is doing in and through my life and ministry here in Peru, then I try to share with you, through words and pictures, highlights of those reflections. This month I’ve been unsure what to share.

September has been a month of changes for FH/Peru: we moved our office (to a smaller, but more central and safer location in the city, although farther from the communities we serve in Lima), we started a new work schedule (starting an hour early), and I began my new job as the National Program Planning and Communications Coordinator. Along with these changes come adjustments for everyone like…figuring out new routs to the office and to the communities with the least amount of traffic, learning share space with new office mates, exploring the neighborhood for lunch time options, and for me trying to figure out what it means to coordinate FH/Peru’s program planning and communications.

In different ways we are all struggling to adjust to these changes, but for me I am most challenged by trying to figure out my role in this new position. Lately I feel as if I am stumbling through my work days as if I were walking about in a dense fog. I am doing things; I keep moving, but I am not quite sure where I am going or when I will arrive. However, I do believe that the Lord will be faithful in time, (of course in His time) to clarify to me and others in FH/Peru how I will best be able to serve in this new role. Until then I don’t want to become discouraged.

So this month, instead of updating my blog with photos of interesting activities and a commentary of the ministry I am part of with FH/Peru, I want to ask you to pray for these changes, the adjustments that need to be made, and that we at FH/Peru would not get discouraged waiting for God’s perfect time.

Please pray:

  • That I would trust God’s timing in bringing about the right changes at the right time
  • That FH/Peru leadership would have wisdom in knowing which other changes are necessary so that the new position I have been asked to fill will be functional
  • That as I begin to carry out the functions of my new role, that God would give me the grace, and wisdom to do so in a way that supports, empowers, and encourages the other FH/staff who I work with
  • That all FH/Peru staff would be flexible and supportive of making adjustments needed to accommodate for changes in location and work schedules

Thank you for your support and especially for your prayers. I am looking forward to the day I will write about how God answered these prayers.

Bendiciones,
Lauren
